The Distant Librarian
Hi Soaring Eagles! I have created this space as a place to come to hear some entertaining stories as well as discuss them just like we do in the library. I am also including some games you can play that focus on digital citizenship and CODING! If you need to contact me, my email is email@example.com.
This picture book shares the tale of Arfy, a homeless mutt who lives in a box in an alley. Arfy writes to every person on Butternut Street about what a great pet he'd make.
When you are finished listening, click on the discussion button for your grade level and answer the question. I can't wait to read and respond to your response!
Keep up your coding skills, by participating in an hour of code. Choose an activity based on your grade level and have fun! When you are done, go to the google form and tell me which activity you did.
Fun Fact Research! Have you heard of the frogfish? Did you know it’s called, "the couch potato of the sea”? Listen to the video to find out more interesting facts! Then, click on “cool facts” and share what you learned.
Battle of the Books!
Let's play Battle of the Books!
Here's how you play!
First, click on each book cover and listen to each book. As you are listening, think about the characters, settings, plot, and solution. When you are finished with all three books, go and vote on which one you thought was the best. Next week, I will announce which one won Battle of the Books!
Battle of the Books! Part 2
Ready for another showdown!
Same rules as above, different books. Make sure to vote

One thing I am missing right now is traveling! Did you know that Google Earth can take you virtually anywhere. It uses satellite imagery to grab, spin, pan, tilt and zoom down to any place on Earth. I challenge you to access Google Earth this week for a field trip to five amazing places around the World! When finished, try out the game Where on Google Earth is Carmen Sandiego? located in the search tab! Happy traveling.
